Level 2 Award for Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry (Refresher) – 3 Days including First Aid

This 3-day SIA Door Supervisor Refresher course, including First Aid training, updates learners on the latest industry requirements and best practices. It covers effective search procedures, protecting vulnerable people, responding to terrorism threats, preventing spiking incidents, and the safe use of physical intervention techniques. Learners will also refresh their knowledge of legal responsibilities, risk assessment, and conflict management while completing practical assessments to demonstrate their competence. By the end of the course, participants will have the skills and knowledge required to maintain their SIA Door Supervisor licence and perform their role safely and professionally.

What You Will Learn

The Highfield Level 2 Award for Working as a Door Supervisor Private Security Industry (Refresher) is for learners who currently hold a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a door supervisor and need to be brought up to date with the new licence-linked qualifications requirements.

Course Content

The qualification comprises two mandatory units:

Updated knowledge on effective search procedures, keeping vulnerable people safe, understanding terror threats and the security operative’s role, and safeguarding the public from incidents of spiking. Includes a practical search assessment.

2. Application of Physical Intervention Skills (Refresher):
 Updated legal, professional, and risk implications of physical intervention. Reinforcement of dynamic risk assessment and practical skills for protection, disengagement, and non-pain compliant holding/escorting techniques. Includes a full practical demonstration assessment and oral Q&A.

Requirements

  • Minimum age: 18+
  • Emergency First Aid at Work certificate (must be completed before course begins)
  • Valid photo ID (passport or driving licence)
  • Must be physically capable of performing physical intervention techniques
  • Basic English reading and writing skills
  • Comfortable clothing for practical training
